Practice counting your hand points

In ACOL Bridge, the number of points in your hand will determine whether you are able to open the bidding, if you can overcall your opposition and how you will respond to your partners bids if they open.

Points are made up from your high card points (HCP) An Ace is worth 4, a King 3, a Queen 2 and and Jack 1 point. There are 40 possible points in a deck of cards.
